We liked everything, from the friendly and helpful people on the door and in reception, through the excellent position (walkable to everything on our 'must see' and 'must eat' list but also near transport links) and the 'guest room' with free, excellent, coffee, imaginative decor and furniture, even to the view from my second floor front room - I enjoyed seeing people going to work through the foyer of a skyscraper!!! It's hard to think what could have been better. It didn't matter at all that our rooms weren't close together - it is a small hotel, the lift worked well.

Friendly and efficient staff in this small hotel tucked discretely in the theater district. As a solo female traveler, I felt safe since there is a 24/7 security guard and receptionist in the small entry lobby. Room was clean and quiet with fridge and more amenities than expected. Updated bathroom with great shower. Easy transport links. All manner of restaurants and take-out food nearby. 24-hour free coffee and tea in second-floor lounge. Contract with well-known restaurant across the street for a prix fixe continental breakfast.

Moderne Hotel was Excellent. Some Staff Members were more welcoming than others, and unfortunately, there were no facilities to use, such as a lounge to purchase drinks and snacks. The room was perfect and the bed was extremely comfortable. Though the TV was put in an awkward spot, facing the front door, we had a pleasant experience. The room was very clean; there was no dust, bugs, or spots to be found. The cost was a little pricey, but the Location and access to the train stations were worth the $175+ a night.

The property is in a good location; close to the theatre district. It is a clean boutique property. The male hotel staff were always pleasant and friendly.

We were very pleased with our room. It included a couch and king size bed. The extra space allowed for a more pleasant stay since we were there for 5 nights. The rain shower faucet was lovely and the amount of consistent hot water was welcome, since it was so cold outside. And the hotel location is excellent! Easy walk to several subway entrances; there's a Gastro Mart 5 minutes away; you're walking distance to Broadway theaters, Central Park and great food. The doormen and desk attendant were consistently helpful and pleasant.

Concierge Andy and Manager Jerry were helpful, delightful, and wonderful hosts. We were upgraded to an upper floor and larger room. The entire staff was helpful and friendly. The Moderne is a clean and charming boutique hotel providing personal service in a calm environment.

Clean rooms Friendly staff Sound proof room - felt like it anyway Good working AC. Staff was attentive. Toilet was clogged and it was resolved within 10 mins after telling the staff. There’s a common room to chill out or have food, so even if your room is small (like most in NYC), you can chill there as it was very really occupied. Free pastries were offered at breakfast time & free coffee, tea and hot chocolate throughout the day. Water bottles given every day was also a nice touch 10 minutes walk from time square & 4 min walk from Subway. I really liked the location as it was close to everything but you’re just outside the main noise. Safe area.

The location was excellent. We got moved to the sister property Ameritania because the Moderne was overbooked Very nice room and hotel
